The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office announced today it is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man found dead in San Jose in 1998.The 24-year-old victim was found dead on the Seventh Street ramp at southbound Interstate Highway 280 in San Jose on Feb. 11, 1998, according to the medical examiner’s office.He had a hospital band with the name Gonzalo Perez, but the identification could not be confirmed. His fingerprints have been run through state and federal systems with negative results, the medical examiner’s office reported.He is approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and 125 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He is a white man and may have Hispanic heritage, according to the medical examiner’s office.The man has two upper molars that are crowned and he had tooth decay at the time of his death, the medical examiner’s office reported.Anyone with information regarding the man’s identity is asked to call the California Highway Patrol or the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office at (408) 793-1900.
